Snaza, N. & Lensmire, T. (2006). Abandon voice? Pedagogy, the body, and late capitalism.

InterActions: UCLA Journal of Education and Information Studies, 2, retrieved from eScholarhsip

This article explores the concept of voice in writing pedagory as discussed by

Kamler, Lensmire, Elbow. While Kamler suggests we abandon voice as a

metaphor because it is so closely fixed to the body and to the personal, making revision

difficult, Snaza argues, with the help of Hardt and Negri (200, 2004), that the body as

production sight of capitalism via communication (voice) is a necessary metaphor for

understanding a capitalistic society. in which the "biopower" controls via the brains

    and bodies of its citizens.
